Improvements to customer support
Launched on October 3rd, KTNA has a new customer portal available for users of software products that have been developed or sold by KTNA. The customer portal can be found in the lower left panel of KTNA’s web site. Currently, the customer portal is set up to track software feature requests and assists in error reporting. A new e-mail address, ktportal@kayser-threde-na.com , has been set up to automate the entry of requests into the system. This address can be used to directly enter both supporting file data and information into the system. The e-mails will be analyzed by the KTNA support team and will be assigned an ID number to facilitate tracking of the reported issue. Future enhancements will be made to this system to allow the same type of tracking for hardware that has been sent to KTNA for calibration or service.

THOR-NT with Microdau® technology ships
GESAC and KTNA have been working together to construct the worlds first advanced frontal ATD with a truly distributed data acquisition system. 129 channels of Microdau® technology have been incorporated into the standard THOR-NT design. Implementation of the Microdau® distributed data acquisition system has shown that only minor modification to the basic ATD design are necessary to incorporate the required data collection channels close to the transducer. By using the standard USB bus for communication to the Microdau® units, the user can work with just a leg, head, etc. when performing subsystem component testing, once again showing how ATD testing will be performed in the future.

National Geographic features KTNA products in “Fight Science” special
On August 20 th National Geographic released a special called “Fight Science”. In the show, KTNA personnel along with other experts in the crash test industry were called upon to collect and analyze data generated from some of the top martial artists in the world. Autolab® and EVAlaution® software were used along with both Microdau® and Minidau® data acquisition systems to collect the true speed and force of the impacts produced by these masters as they each demonstrated their particular discipline. We would like to thank National Geographic and Base Productions for including KTNA as one of the key components in the production of this special. A “Fight Science” video clip can be found at http://www9.nationalgeographic.com/channel/fightscience/videoPreview.html
